Upper Deck supports Hobby with Volunteer Alliance
Last month Upper Deck unveiled an exciting new initiative designed to further engage the company’s loyal collector base. The “Upper Deck Volunteer Alliance” is a program free of charge that’s open to collectors from around the world that enables them to earn Upper Deck merchandise simply by helping the company promote the hobby. Topps to return to NFL?
This link came to my attention yesterday and has created quite a stir. Topps is actively looking for a new project manager to hire. Why would Topps need another project manager unless they were undertaking another sport?
The biggest rumor, and what we may hear more about in the upcoming days is that Topps will be back in the NFL game soon. With Upper Deck losing their NFL deal, it’s either someone steps up to fill the void, or Panini has the exclusive. The NFL did not seem to one a sport card monopoly originally, or they would have given Panini it when they resigned with Upper Deck originially. This story should be developing shorty, and could be big news in the Sports Card industry.
Upper Deck releases statement on settlement with MLBP
Upper Deck released a statement on their settlement with MLBP yesterday. The biggest things coming out of the statement are that there is no recall, no matter what anyone at a card show says, on 2009 Signature Stars, Ultimate Baseball or 2010 Series One. The statement includes a quote from Richard McWilliams on the future of Upper Deck Baseball. Read more
How many autographs did USA players sign?
Check out the two scans I got from Chad Bettis USA cards this year. I don’t even want to know how many stickers he must have signed for his sig to change this much during it. I like the triple jerseys, but would have preferred the traps over stickers as in the past USA products.

Upper Deck Claims Victory Over Topps
Got this press release from Upper Deck today about the lawsuit that was filed by Topps over the OPC 2009 set. Upper Deck claims victory due to the fact that a New York judge denied a temporary restraining order to prevent the 2009 Upper Deck Series II and 2009 O-Pee-Chee.
Topps files suit against UD
Sorry there has been a delay in posting lately folks, hopefully will record a new episode of The Card Podcast tonight. But this news came out last night that Topps has filed suit against Upper Deck over the Upper Deck 2009 O-Pee-Chee Brand using the same design as 1971 and 1975 Topps. Tiger Woods Variations in Champs Hockey
Beckett Blog had a story today about Tiger Woods being included in Upper Deck’s autographed mini cards in the 2008-09 NHL Champ’s product. Upper Deck announced that there are four different variations to be found.
King James throne is with Upper Deck
Upper Deck is definitely putting out some great looking cards with their last licensed NBA releases. They have the exclusives on some of the NBA’s greatest players ever such as Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James and are taking advantage of that! We got in a press release from them on the new Lebron cards with some pretty nice inscriptions.
Mystery Cuts have all shipped
Got this in from Upper Deck today that they have completely shipped all the Mystery Cuts out this week. This set has been a winner for Upper Deck every year and this year looks to continue that trent.
