We got a box of Topps Triple Threads Football in for review this weekend. This is one of the final NFL Products from Topps as they are losing their license. Is it an all out dump of product, or a hit. We had a VERY nice hit in our boxes with six autographs.

2009 NFL Topps Chrome Preview

June 10, 2009 · Filed Under Football, NEWS, Topps Football · 1 Comment

Got in the press release from Topps on their 2009 Topps Chrome line for the NFL. A few things I noticed in the press release that I am hoping to be the case when the cards are released. They have done away with any Superfractors that are not 1/1’s and replaced the /10 variations with Red Refractors. Also the image that was sent of a Mark Sanchez autograph is photoshopped as an on card autograph. If last years had been on card I know I would have gone a lot harder after Kevin O’Connell rookies, or how valuable would an Adrian Peterson Chrome on card autographed Super numbered to 10 be? Good move Topps!! (I take all this back if it is a clear sticker and just photoshopped to look on card….)

Topps announces Super Team Prizes

February 4, 2009 · Filed Under Football, Topps Football · Comment

One of the coolest card ideas for me as a kid was the Topps Stadium Club Super Team cards. I remember trading a friend for a 49ers one the year they won and the excitement I had when I got in my factory set that were all stamped with a Super Bowl Logo. Well Topps brought those cards back and here are the prizes from Clay at Topps that you get for teams that made the Championship games. This year in the NFL was a car wreck to me personally, but some people must have been happy this year.

Topps announces the next installment of its popular Allen & Ginter Super Bowl Champions collection.

The first six cards, which were issued last year, created a huge buzz among football card collectors. Although Allen & Ginter has been traditionally limited to baseball releases, this series allows collectors to experience the beauty of Allen & Ginter with top NFL Superstars and now coaches as well.

To celebrate the upcoming Super Bowl we will begin offering cards from this collection on Monday, January 19th at 1PM EST and continue offering additional cards on Monday, January 26th. The collection will include NFL Super Bowl greats including Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Landry, Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, Tony Dorsett and Walter Payton. (image attached)

Like last year, the collection will be beautifully presented and delivered via the classic Allen & Ginter design (even staying true to the original Allen & Ginter size), but brought to life on eTopps technology. Cards will be offered individually, encased and be sequentially numbered.

Each card will be encased in our standard eTopps tamper-evident plastic case with the eTopps sticker. The cards will be placed into a fitted frame and then fixed inside of the case.

Error in Topps Finest Football

September 23, 2008 · Filed Under Football, Topps Football · Comment

Topps announces that because of a production error in 2008 Topps Finest Football, the Base Autographed Rookie Cards are not sequentially numbered as originally solicited.  In an effort to correct this error, consumers can send these particular cards to Topps to have them sequentially numbered.  Each card will be numbered and have a 3M Authentication Sticker placed on the card’s back.  Sequential numbering for each subject will start at the number 1 and continue numerically as cards are received.

In addition to getting your card numbered, Topps will also include a free pack of hobby football cards.  All cards will be accepted until March 31st 2009.  Cards should be sent to:

Topps Creates New Favre Tractor Card

September 8, 2008 · Filed Under Football, Topps Football · Comment

I got this from Topps today and figured I would share.

On the heels of Brett Favre’s debut win as Jets quarterback, Topps announce that it has created a follow-up to the much-popular Brett Favre “Tractor Card” with the quarterback’s ride going all the way to the Big Apple…Times Square, New York City.

Topps has produced another limited edition “Tractor Card”, but this version has Favre driving his tractor under the bright lights of Times Square wearing his New York Jets helmet. The 2008 Topps Branded card will be exclusively seeded into packs of 2008 Bowman Football (releasing the second week of October).

The “Tractor Card”, which appears as a very limited short printed variation in 2008 Topps Football, depicts then-Packer quarterback Brett Favre riding a tractor (one thing he wanted to do in retirement) on Lambeau Field. The card, which has become an eBay sensation, pokes fun at Favre’s ongoing battles with retirement.
