We got a press release from Topps on a story that we broke months ago about the WBC being in 2009 Bowman including Yu Darvish, but we recieved the first images today of the card plus some other names that will be in 2009 Bowman which ships in May!

The base cards will release through ThePit.com. The gold and blue will be limited to 25 and 50 respectively. They will be sold through Razor’s EBay store.
Bowman 2009 First Look
Beckett Blog has revealed the first ever images of 2009 Bowman Baseball. This was the set that we broke the story that Yu Darvish and other WBC Stars would have their first cards featured in. Strong base checklist for this set, it should be a hit as per usual. We also expect a ton of changes to the checklist before it releases on May 11th as well.

2 Errors, 1 Card?
Stephen Strasburg is a highly touted prospect that most prospectors have been clamoring over each and every release of a card featuring him. Now if we were writing about cards in the 90’s this card would be by far the hottest card you could get.
It’s an autographed card of Strasburg that is serial numbered 99/20, and as was the case with most of his 2009 USA Cards from Upper Deck they spelled his name Strasberg. It’s signed on card, you would think Stephen could have gone “Hey guys, you spelled my name wrong….”

WBC Stars in 2009 Bowman
I just completed the latest episode of The Card Podcast with Clay Luraschi from Topps. He revealed that the Topps contract with the World Baseball Classic gives them exclusive rights image wise for all WBC players, and you can expect to see them in 2009 Bowman including Yu Darvish and Junichi Tazawa. This should be a huge international boost to 2009 Bowman!
