We got a box of Topps Triple Threads Football in for review this weekend. This is one of the final NFL Products from Topps as they are losing their license. Is it an all out dump of product, or a hit. We had a VERY nice hit in our boxes with six autographs.
You are seeing a lot of fantastic hits out of Triple Threads. Cards that the designs were seen in baseball have carried over to the NFL Product amazingly like this Peyton Manning 1/1. The designs and what some cards spell out leave a little to be desired. I have never understood why Topps feels the need to write in patches and doesn’t just give us one nice big jersey piece with the material they cut up.
For a high end product the base set leaves a little to be desired. It’s the same as all the other TTT products, and that’s not a great thing. Topps did take a huge step forward with Topps Unique Baseball for design elements, but they still have a long way to go.
This is a product that you could hit huge in it, or you could lose your shirt. You know that going in, and it still does well every year in every sport. I’d love to see on card autos, but Topps needs to clear out the sticker inventory for the end of their NFL run. I enjoyed this product and feel free to search EBay for some amazing hits from it like the Manning I linked.
