Topps sent out a press release updating the status of 2009 Sterling Baseball. They are adding an additonal hit to each pack, and gone are the days of just one player being in a pack, they are unveiling themes.

* Every pack now includes an extra hit! Packs now feature an Autographed Relic or Relic #’d to 10 or less (as always) plus an additional Relic #’d to 25. You also still get your 3 sequentially numbered base cards and Mystery Pack featuring either a cut signature or #’d parallel card.
* Every 10-pack case guarantees a Cut Signature card.
* All packs are now themed…more mystery and more fun. No more player specific names on packs. Look for themes such as “Triple Crown Winners”, “Sterling Americana”, “Chart Hall of Fame Members” and much more.
