2009 Exquisite Basketball Preview
Upper Deck released some images of the surprise release of the 2009 Exquisite Basketball release. It should include some superstars as Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Sydney Crosby, and Larry Bird. Upper Deck has gone back to some classic Exquisite designs such as the 2003-2004 Lebron James Rookie year Exquisite set.
2009 Topps Sterling images
A preliminary checklist and images for Topps Sterling Baseball came out today and seems to be going back to the old style with a mix of Hall of Famers and current players in the product. The hobby-exclusive product, which is scheduled to arrive in early January, will include new “Theme Packs” this year as well as two hits per box — a Autographed Relic or Relic card numbered to 10 or fewer copies and one Relic card numbered to 25.
The base set consists of 130 cards of legends from the past and stars from today. Among the autographed Relics cards is a deep checklist of Sterling Chronicles Autographs three-piece, four-piece and five-piece variations as well. Sterling Moments Autographs, Sterling Season Autographs, Sterling Pairs Autographs, Jumbo Swatch Autographs, Sterling Cut Signatures and Sterling Bat Barrel Autographs.
Another deep checklist is found for the three-piece Career Chronicles Relics where each player in the set appears to have three different cards. There also is a four-piece set, which only has two cards per player. The five-piece cards are only one per player.
Also on the Relics checklist are Sterling Moments Relics, Sterling Pairs, Sterling Seasons, Sterling Spectators — a set that includes cards of John F. Kennedy as well as Ted and Bobby – Jumbo Swatch Relics and Bat Barrel Relics.
One criticism of the product and hopefully Topps can change it up at some point, but no product that is this high end should use stickers. Topps has all the marbles for players, but they need to really put the effort to deliver the great products that we know they can.

We got a box from Upper Deck of 2009 Philadelphia Football. This is a tribute set to the vintage Philadelphia line with some new twists like game used cards and autographs. First pack I opened was the autograph. So was slightly disappointed with that but did get a Albert Haynesworth autograph, Frank Gore and Donavan McNabb game jersey cards.

Carlsbad, CA (September 1, 2009) – For many people, especially in Puerto Rico, Roberto Clemente was more than just a MVP and Hall-of-Famer, he was a hero. In his eighteen seasons with Pittsburgh he was a twelve time All-Star, but it was his constant charity work with the underprivileged in developing countries and service with the United States Marine Corps Reserves that helped add to his legend.
Upper Deck is proud to have reached a deal with the estate of Roberto Clemente to provide collectors and sports fans around the world with rare collectible trading cards of this inspirational star. Clemente cards will begin appearing this December in Upper Deck’s 2009 Ultimate Collection Baseball. For 2010, Clemente will appear in at least six of the Upper Deck’s baseball releases.
