I went to a local card shop yesterday to get team bags for my Cape set. I am in the process of moving, so it’s local place to my new location. I also since I am moving had my cards in the car. So as I am leaving the store the owner goes “Oh yeah, around the corner right now Michael Bowden and Chris Carter are signing.”
I had a stack of Chris Carter cards in my car, and even a picture of him and Lil’ Papi. So I drive over, and there is no one there other than some people in a batting cage and the two of them under a tent. So I go over and Michael recognizes me as the guy with his 1 of 1 rookie, and says to Chris “He’s got the 1 of 1 of my best rookie card.” Chris goes to me “What you couldn’t get mine?” jokingly, and I said “Actually I do have it, but had no idea you guys were here, so it’s at my house on Cape.” I ended up giving Chris a few of his cards he didn’t have, and Michael remembered my fiancee from the Jimmy fund raiser and asked if we got married yet. But it was pretty crazy to just randomly stumble on two of my favorite minor league ball players. Here are the cards they signed.
Chris told me to find him at a PawSox game too sometime soon, since he wanted to see the Super. I told him I would as soon as Cape Season is over.
