Remembering a Friend
February 28th was a day for me that I would never forget, it was my grandfathers birthday. He passed away in 2003, and I’ll never forget him. Unfortunately another event happened on the same day last year that the card world, not the sports card world, but the collectible card game world lost a giant figure that I considered one of my best friends.
Two New Episodes Posted
We recorded two new episodes of The Card Podcast over the last few days. In episode 22, we are joined by Steven Judd from TheSportsCardFile.com. This was a lot of fun talking to Steven, who has worked on the inside of the card industry from Topps, Donruss, Upper Deck to Beckett.
The next night we recorded episode 23 with Craig Calcaterra of HardBalltimes.com. Craig has written the popular Shyster Ball blog on the HardBall Times site, and we didn’t talk about sports cards as much as we discussed the game of Baseball.
Both episodes were extremely fun to record and I had as much fun talking with them as I have anyone. Check out both of their sites. They are both at the top of the game in the subject matter that they cover.

Bowman 2009 First Look
Beckett Blog has revealed the first ever images of 2009 Bowman Baseball. This was the set that we broke the story that Yu Darvish and other WBC Stars would have their first cards featured in. Strong base checklist for this set, it should be a hit as per usual. We also expect a ton of changes to the checklist before it releases on May 11th as well.
Here are full color sell sheets, including pics and insert information (serialization).

American Heritage Review
2009 Topps American Heritage is a set that is a historical set builders dream. It also has some of the nicest high end hits in a set for quite some time with cut signatures of former Presidents, and the CMG guys that Topps signed last year. I got in a box to review, our review follows after the link.
